Audi Q7 is the large Audi for sporty individualists, for people who are seeking a vehicle that will take them anywhere they want to go for sports, recreation, and business. Its dynamic proportions and distinctive lines express this character, and subtle modifications endow its styling with even more elegance.

The Audi Q7 is available with six powerful and highly efficient direct injection engines, two of them gasoline-powered and four diesel engines, including the world’s most powerful diesel SUV, the Audi Q7 V12 TDI. Their power is transmitted via a convenient and fast-shifting six-speed tiptronic to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive, which distributes it between the axles with slightly more than half to the rear.

The latest Q7 range has a new 3.0-litre TDI engine incorporating the clean diesel technology uses an AdBlue additive to eradicate virtually all harmful nitrous oxides from emissions, and already meets stringent EU6 emissions applicable from 2014. The 3.0 TDI puts out 176 kW (240 bhp) and delivers as much as 550 Nm between 2,000 and 2,250 rpm, yet on the EU cycle it consumes only 9.1 liters / 100 km (25.85 US mpg).

The system stores the kinetic energy converted into electrical energy while coasting or braking into an on-board battery. Under acceleration this stored energy is used to support car’s electrical systems, thereby reducing the load on the alternator and improving efficiency, though marginally.

Like the rest of the engine range, including 3.6 FSI V6 and 4.2 FSI V8 direct injection petrol units and 4.2 TDI V8 and 6.0 TDI diesels, the new 3.0-litre TDI unit is backed up by a new energy recovery system which helps to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 5g/km.

The Q7 has a history of good ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It is also considered one of the safest vehicles in Audi’s fleet with Top Safety Pick recognition from the IIHS or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
